Biography

New York-based Xero/G is the child of Seth Questor and Victoria Angell, and their passion for synth-driven, danceable music. They have been compared to “Imagination” era Clan of Xymox, Kraftwerk and Human League. One reviewer likened them to “The sound if Blondie did modern-day EBM.” With strong female vocals and catchy melodies, Xero/G stands in contrast to the common perception of synthpop as “Just another Depeche Mode clone.” Their sound is unique to them, and each song has a distinctive quality that sets them apart.

Seth Questor began his musical efforts DJing club music, and he has carried that sense of the dance floor with him into his own music. Seth is one of those people who attaches songs to every part of his life, and listening and dancing have both been huge releases for him. He tries with every song to re-invent and push himself, making every track a journey into unmarked territory.

Victoria is the driving force behind the intriguing lyrics and vocal melodies that Xero/G is known for. She believes that every song should evoke an image, that is both personal to the listener and powerful enough to unite a crowd. Her lyrics are proof that not all synthpop is about clichéd love or moping in a corner.

Xero/G believes that live synth shows should be as exciting and dynamic as any guitar-driven band. As such, they put a tremendous emphasis on creating an environment and mood on stage that sets them apart from many other NYC synthpop bands. Their live show includes impressive lights, visuals and movement, without compromising the high quality of audio excellence they demand of themselves.

Because an excellent live show is pointless unless it is seen, Xero/G has been a strong contributor to the NYC synthpop scene. They are regular performers at both CBGB’s Gallery and the Korova Milk Bar, as well as playing shows at Albion-Batcave, Rare, Pianos and the Citadel.

Xero/G was one of the premier bands at the 2005 NYC Synthpop Festival, where they played to a packed house of enthusiastic fans.
